A few years ago, I taught an "Introduction to the Internet" class for the Community Education Department of the local school district. The project I presented to the class was to "map out" the vacation of their dreams. They learned how to make reservations, find out what attractions were available on the way and at their destination, how to stretch their food budget, etc.
They were all very new to the internet, but they enjoyed this project immensely. They were pros in no time and at the beginning of each class, were eager to share their new knowledge. Every vacation I've planned in many years has begun with searching the net. If you will be driving, look up the Chamber of Commerce for the towns you will go pass through or will be nearby. There you will find attractions, history, places to eat and events. Each state has a website for tourists and events.
There is information readily available for whatever kind of vacation you want. And don't forget to work out a budget. Many times, if you plan to visit a theme park, for example, visit their website for specials on tickets. In our community, the credit unions often offer discount tickets for theme parks and other events. Have fun!
