We have fairs & auctions.

I'm sure there are many where you live that are crafty.
Have everyone & anyone who is crafty donate something & have an auction.

I craft 3 to 4 baskets filled with goodies each year that are auctioned off. Every auction they bring in more money than the last so I always make the next even better.

My friend has a gravel pit he donates a load of gravel. Another paints so she donates a painting. One is the very best cookie maker, than there is the cake maker, a wood craver, ect...

Together our valley has came together to furnish our park with lights.
We have gotten the Senior Center a new stove, ice machine, the septic redone, remodeling, paint, ect..
I am 51 so all will be worn out by the time I am a senior so hopefully when I reach that age others will be doing the same.

I (volunteer) teach crafts at the Senior Center also & those things are sold &/or auctioned off.

When I first moved out here the sales were very small but with a lot of hard work & 4 years later they now ROCK.
