Vit. E oil also works wonders on fresh scars. It takes about 3 weeks or so of applying every day, but after that, the scar is not as noticeable to others. A pal told me of this suggestion for scars from her Dr.
Vitamin E oil - This was going to be my remedy also. I have been using it for over 30 years. It offers immediate and constant relief from the pain and dryness of a sunburn. I have suffered from them myself too many times. Then used the Vit E oil on my children when they too were suffering from them. Vit E is for the skin anyway and the oil immediately replenishes the oil that has been "baked" out of the skin.
I apply a thick layer - especially because the skin is so tender - you don't want to be rubbing it in anyway. It doesn't stain clothing - it will soak through some places - apply as needed. A bottle is rather expensive - but the relief it supplies is more than worth it. I am never without it.
