Grease Stains on House Paneling?

We bought an older home built in 1973 with high quality paneling in it. I made the mistake of taking the greasy, smoke covered kitchen cabinet doors off of the cabinets to clean everything and leaned them up against the paneling. I sprayed them down with ammonia and now some of the doors that were really greasy have left a black line on my home's paneling. Nothing I have tried will clean the paneling. More ammonia, Purple Power Cleaner, lightly scrubbing, I have tried all I know to do without ruining them. Any ideas?

I would probably try Oxy-Clean. My granddaughter's living room set needed a serious cleaning and she used Oxy-Clean with a sponge and it worked wonders. Try it on an inconspicuous spot first to make sure it doesn't harm the paneling but if ammonia, etc. did not harm it, I would think that Oxy-Clean would be safe too. Good luck!!

Try the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. I have washed some awful greasy stains off with them.

Happy Cleaning!
