How do I remove odor from an 1957 newspaper we found at the dump?

Have you tried sprinkling the newspaper with baking soda to pull out any odors?

Sprinkle the newspaper with dry baking soda, seal in a plastic bag for a few days. Vacuum on low with a brush attachment to remove the baking soda. That should make it smell good again.

I have had good luck sprinkling baby powder in the pages of old books. shake out excess after a few days. Do not breathe in the powder dust. It is a lung irritant.

Ive also heard of putting a book and/or newspaper in a paper with with kitty litter. The litter is supposed to absorb the smells.
