Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup chopped dates
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • pinch salt
  • 2 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • Advertisement

  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • shredded coconut

Directions

Melt butter in skillet. Add dates, beaten eggs, sugar, and salt; cook until thick. Cool 5 minutes, then add 2 cups Rice Krispies, 1 cup chopped pecans, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Cool enough to handle, then roll into balls and then in shredded coconut.

Wow, I haven't seen this recipe for a long time. My Mom used to make these and they are delicious.

My Grandma used to make these. She put a red marachino cherry in the center of each ball. They were the best ever cookies. Thank you for the recipe!
