Baby Oil As Wood Cleaner

I've been using baby oil to polish my furniture for a few years now and it works great for me. I have a lot of dark wood furniture. It really shines and there's no oily film left. The shine lasts too, so I polish less frequently.

I've used it on an antique chair and it hasn't harmed it, but I would recommend you consult with a professional before using it on valuable antiques. A few drops of lavender oil mixed in with the baby oil gives a nice fragrance. I put mine in a spray bottle and either spray on the furniture directly or onto a cloth first.

Source: My own idea when I got tired of paying high prices for furniture polish that didn't seem to do what they advertised.

My grandfather was a maker of fine furniture. He always said furniture didn't need oil it needed wax.

I've been doing that for years. It gives a great shine to the furniture and also smells great.
