To clean an above the ground swimming pool or blowup type, take a plastic broom ($1.00 at a discount store) and "sweep" the debris on the bottom toward the skimmer. Then unhook the hose from the skimmer and suck up the trash from the bottom with the hose. It is much quicker and effective way to clean your pool than the vacuum.

This is a great idea, I have an above ground pool and I will try this method this weekend! Thanks for the information !
I have an above ground pool. But, I do not understand how this works. The only hose connected to the intake is outside the pool and about 18" long....Am I missing something?
The hose to skimmer will not reach into pooL...I'm confused?
You're totally right! We used to just vacuum it but doing everything manually makes things easier by the end. It pays to do it right the first time.
I have an above ground 12X30 Intex pool we drained it below skimmer for winter but didn't realize that you need to winterize it with chemicals. Opened it up and it has this white cobweb stuff all over the bottom. HELP what should I do?
