I'm looking for a theme for my 18th birthday party. It has to be big. I'm thinking of something like the "Red Carpet" or something like that.

How about having a party based on a big event? World fair, Oscars, if you're into music the appropriate award ceremony or Grand Finale
I like the red carpet idea, have the guests come as their favorite movie star, can have a contest to guess who they are, etc.

I'm turning 14 on March 9th and my dad is throwing me a party. He wants me to pick a theme. I have 3 other girls coming and a guy. I've thought of Luau, Hollywood, 60s, and New York, but I need more ideas.

Have an old fashioned masquerade. Everyone should be in costume or wear a mask of that era. (02/26/2005)

Happy birthday, Alexa. I don't have any other ideas, but I know my daughter loved the Hawaii-themed birthday party she attended. All the participants took their bathing suits so they could swim. Each was given a "grass" skirt, which they wore for pictures. Each participant had her/his pic taken and put into a card, which was created using info from the web. They played Hawaiian music. The party was extreme Hawaiian, down to the fake trees. All the kids had a blast, even the boys. Whatever you decide, I hope you have a great time. (02/26/2005)

My daughter is turning 12 this July and we are thinking about doing a "Christmas in July" theme party, with a tree, lights on the house and deck, and instead of the little kiddie party bags, a cool gift for each guest under the tree. Traditional Christmas goodies with supplies to decorate their own cookies, and showing Christmas movies. Guests will sleep over and we'll have water balloon fights with red and green balloons. We have a pool so we'll have swimming.
She went to a Rat Race birthday party not long ago where the girls were divided into 2 or 3 teams of 3 or 4 kids, given a lump sum of money and had to go to different stores in the mall and buy certain things to get the clues. Adults stationed at all mall exits waiting with cars to take the groups to the final spot, a local hotel where the final prize was at the bottom of the pool. Then they all slept over at the hotel. It took a lot of coordination and help even from the mall staff, but they were very willing and helpful. (07/19/2005)

I think you should do a Fear Factor party. It's coed and fun! I'm having a fear factor party this month. It will be awesome! (09/15/2005)

Have a Luau in Hollywood during the 60's! (03/18/2007)

For all the girls who want to do a party cheaply, have a spa party! You and your girlfriends can do each other's hair and nails and gab for a fraction of what it would cost at a salon. Have some tea and cake and send your beautiful girlfriends home, or invite them to sleep over. Fun times for all! (09/03/2007)

I just thought of a wacky idea for all the gals or guys out there who love scary party themes. How about a Halloween theme? You could put heaps of things up for cheap prices. Maybe you could set up a tent outside and tell scary stories, do pranks on each other, watch a scary movie, and dance to cool scary music, that completes the party. Eat junk food, and stay up late.
You could put up balloons and make them all black. Put up fake spider webs. It may sound weird, but that's the whole point in doing something different for once. And if you think about it, it would be really fun. (06/24/2008)
