Donate Money And Receive Address Labels

We should all be givers. By that I mean donate to organizations. It does not have to be hundreds of dollars; $5.00 several times a year helps.

Last year, I donated to the March of Dimes and Veterans, what I could. They have sent me hundreds of labels and calendars. We have labels running out everywhere. So you are helping an organization by giving some money when you can and they are giving you something back in return. Any little bit helps to them. I probably have enough labels to last 10 years and I am serious!

I don't donate anything to organizations who bombard me with mailing labels, notepads & calendars. I figure they are using my donation to purchase/print & ship these items to multitudes of people several times a year, instead of using my donation for what they say they need it for, they even send them to people who've never donated to them before!

Can you believe one group sent my dad mailing labels five years after he died? And he'd never made a donation to them in the first place! Not only that, my experience with these groups is that they sell your information & then you get bombarded with more junk mail.

My advice, before you donate to anyone, is to find out how much of your donation is actually going for the cause they advertise & how much of it is used for advertising, salaries & other costs.

Once I started paying bills on-line, the freebie address labels started piling up. I've started throwing away most of them, because if I started mailing 5 letters a day for the rest of my life (even if I never got another set of free ones) I think the ones I've got would last to my great-grandchildren.

When I got some really pretty Christmas ones, I made a donation to that children's organization. It helps the kids and give me pretty labels for my Christmas cards.
