I need some ideals for a cheap May birthday party for our soon to be 10 year old son. I would like to try and have it at the local park. I have thought about either a sports theme or mystery hunt. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I totally suggest a field day. So fun things like a sack hop ( old pillow cases or from thrift store could work), water balloon toss, egg-on-spoon run, 3 legged races, blind folded tag game, etc. Oh I wish I could revert to childhood!

I need help in planning a 10 year old's birthday party on December 13th. Can I get some cheap ways to go and ideas please? She likes horses, Miley Cyrus, High School the Musical, games, swimming, and pretty things. Help please.

Since she likes pretty things, why not do a "girlie" party. Perhaps talk to other mothers and gather clothes, shoes, and jewelry that the girls can dress up in. Have someone do manicures, facials, or even hair. Make sure that pictures are taken and that each girl gets one of her "glamor" shots to keep. (09/24/2009)

I suggest an old-fashioned sleep over with cartoons, popcorn, hairdo's and such. An inexpensive craft: buy a few bottles of acrylic paint and some of those wooden jewelery boxes (dollar stores), the girls can decorate to their liking.
Other craft ideas: Paper dolls; tin can tinmen; birdhouses (milk cartons, juice containers, etc.). Gather and press wildflowers; make collages from old magazines. (09/24/2009)
