We have been visited by javelina quite regularly in the middle of the night. They kept eating our flowers, so we stopped planting them.

We have taken so much living space from animals. Who can blame them for foraging ? They are fascinating, how marvellous to see them so close.
They have been coming to my mom's yard also(she lives in AZ),run out of their natural habitat. They eat the salt block she has for her cow. It's scary because they can be extremely mean & dangerous when startled or cornered & my mom is 70 & doesn't move fast. Also,we visit every year & my boys & my grandkids go with me & are used to running around her property. They have also spotted bobcats & bear in her area! We will all have to be more careful. It's sad all these beautiful, wild animals are being run out of their natural habitat by either drought or people encroaching on them!
I found a PDF listing Javalina resistant plants you can plant but I would make sure they are mature and not seedlings.

These creatures are so sadly at the mercy of we humans now and the only reason they get mean is that they are trying to protect themselves from possible threats.
