In sauce pan, mix ingredients. Simmer uncovered 1-1.5 hours till thick as pudding. Pour into sterile jars and seal. Water bath for 10 minutes at 160 degrees F.

How long would something like this stay good in the jar?
This sound really good. I might like to make for presents. It would be really cute with a square of fabric tied around the lid with raffia.

If it has a vacuum tight seal, it should have about a 2-year shelf life.
If someone gave me a gift like this from the heart, it sure wouldn't last that long in my refrigerator.
