When making my own cards, I love experimenting with different shapes and sizes. This makes the whole process of card making much more fun. Here is an example of a circular card, but use your imagination. The possibilities are endless!

Great idea and one I often use as well. A very simple car or truck shape makes a super nice card for a boy, and a "Little Dutch Girl" makes an equally nice one for a girl.
Go to the most simple children's coloring book for patterns of the best shapes to use. An Apple card for a teacher, a Christmas Tree card hinged at the side for anyone on your list.
Thanks for sharing your ideas.

Thanks Pookarina, I am going to try the Christmas Tree idea you mentioned! Now where did I put that coloring book? :-)
I just started making cards and matching envelopes. I love your latest card entry and your"Garden Party Invitation" is great.
Thanks for easy directions and photos. Please post more for us.
