Circular Card

When making my own cards, I love experimenting with different shapes and sizes. This makes the whole process of card making much more fun. Here is an example of a circular card, but use your imagination. The possibilities are endless!

Approximate Time: 1 hour

Supplies:

• 8.2" x 11.6" cerise pink cardboard
• 8.2" x 11.6" marbled pink paper
• a leftover piece of riffled cardboard, gold color
• a selection of 2D paper flowers, obtainable from a scrapbook stockist
• 3D self-adhesive foam squares
• quick-drying glue
• pencil
• ruler
• pair of compasses
• pair of standard scissors
• pair of pattern edged scissors

Instructions:

1. Fold cerise pink cardboard in half, use the ruler to make the fold neat and smooth.

2. Use the pair of compasses and a pencil to draw a circle. Draw the circle approximately 0.2 inches from the fold.

3. Do not draw the whole circumference of the circle, leave a part of the circle open. Extend this open section to the fold, so that the fold will serve as a "hinge."

4. Using the pair of compasses and pencil again, draw a slightly smaller circle onto the marbled pink paper.

5. Use the patterned scissors to cut out the circle from the marbled pink paper, so that this circle will have a decorated edge.

6. Glue the marbled circle to the front of the card, carefully ensuring that it is an equal distance from the edges.

7. Cut the riffled cardboard into a pot shape and glue this to the front of the card. Use 3D self-adhesive foam squares to create a 3D effect.

8. Using the green leaves, start making a "flower arrangement" in the "pot." Use the glue. Remember to use only a small drop of glue for each leaf.

9. Now make an arrangement with the 2D paper flowers on the front of the card. For some of the flowers, use glue to affix them to the card, and for others, use the 3D self-adhesive foam squares to create a 3D effect.
