Blood Orange and Tequila

I thought blood oranges and tequila would go well together so I made this drink. It turned out pretty well, hope you enjoy.

Ingredients:

  • 2 blood oranges
  • 2 oz. tequila
  • 2 oz. sparkling water
  • Lemon wedge (blood orange or orange wedge would work well too)
  • Kosher salt
  • Ice

Directions:

Juice the blood oranges, Blood oranges can be small, so use 3 if you need more juice. Mix tequila and blood orange juice together in shaker with ice.

Use the lemon wedge to dampen the rim of the glass. Salt the rim of the glass and add the lemon wedge to the rim. Pour the mixture from the shaker into the glass.

Top with sparkling water and enjoy!

I used a tangerine flavored sparking water but many different flavors would work here. I like using the sparkling water because it keeps the cocktail lighter. If you wanted a sweeter drink without the sparkle, you could use an ounce of triple sec instead.
