Using Up Leftover Fruit

To use up left over pieces of fruit, have your kids make a "sundae" for breakfast:

Slice banana into bowl, cut up pieces of any other fruit you may have and pile on top of banana. Cover with yogurt. Top with dry cereal, sprinkles, nuts, cherries, anything you may have on hand.

Let the kids help "create" the sundae, which encourages their creativity and it's also nutritious and good for them!

Another good way, well the lazy way to be honest - is a fruit smoothie. Take what's left of your bananas, apples, grapes, raspeberries or whatever you've got on hand. Chuck it in the blender, toss in either yogurt and heavy cream (I use half & half), or some vanilla ice cream if you're feelin' it, and viola! One delicious and frugal drink that even your kids will down with relish.
