Prize Coffee Cake

• 1 1/2 c. sugar
• 1/2 c. soft shortening
• 2 eggs
• 1 c. milk
• 3 c. flour
• 4 t. baking powder
• 1 t. salt

Streusel mixture:

• 1 1/2 c. brown sugar (packed)
• 6 T. flour
• 6 t. cinnamon
• 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
• 6 T. melted butter

Directions:

Mix first 3 ingredients thoroughly. Stir in milk. Soft together and stir in flour, baking powder, and salt. Spread half of batter into pan. Sprinkle with half of streusel mixture. Add remaining batter and sprinkle remaining streusel over top. Bake in 9x13 inch greased and floured pan at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes. or until toothpick stuck into center of cake comes out clean. Serve warm, fresh from the oven.
