I love spring tulips. Drop a copper penny in the water with tulips so they will stand erect and not open wide.

Wow. What good news, just as spring arrives. I googled and before placing tulips in clear water, drop in a copper penny. The copper in the penny works like an acidifier, decreasing the pH of the water.
Sounds like a great idea but are pennies still made from 100% copper anymore? Just my two cents.
