My friend gave me 2 gently used cable knit sweaters. I wanted to cover 2 throw pillows and lost the directions/site. Can someone help, please?

When do anything like this, I very carefully cut the sweaters to the size of the pillows, and sew up the side slot the pillow in, then slip stitch it close or some times put a fastener on buttons, press studs etc, hope this helps.
