How do I get nail polish off of a UPVC window sill?

The only thing I can think of that I would try is nail polish remover but make certain it is the 'non-acetone' kind and 'not the acetone' kind! If you try it, use it in an inconspicuous place first to make sure it doesn't dull the coating. Use a soft sponge to apply and rub.
