I am having a luau party for my turning 12 year old daughter. What items should I use for a scavenger hunt? Any games you know that could be fun, but not too cheesy?

You could use numbered lei flowers hidden with a message to where the next one has "bloomed"- the winner is the first to mark on their map where she found them all or most of them. You could say that "the Princess of Hawaii has had her lei necklace stolen and needs the kids to find it and there will a big reward for the person who does" (give her a prize or extra-special goody bag). I just made this up but keep looking into a theme to match Hawaii or maybe just do a freeform hunt without a plot?

What's wrong with cheesy? Cheesy is often quite fun! Just ask your daughter what would be too cheesy for her and her friends.
You could play the game surfs up: you get a 3 dollar surf board at dollar tree and then you place it on the grass. The birthday girl/guy has to stand on it like they are about to surf.
