Can a dog bite cause a rash? The wound isn't infected and has healed.

Even though it doesn't look to be infected, the rash could be an indication that something is going on because of the bite. It is probably best to play it safe and make a phone call to your doctor.

I would talk to your doctor about the possibility of a little staph infection. Staph infections are not something to mess with, so I would do as Fortunately says and give your doc a good call. :)
Any break in the skin can allow a bacterial based rash to begin. Most are not harmful, but the MRSA infection can be fatal. This rash spreads days after a break in the skin; when the scratch or whatever may be healed.
