Rocky (Raccoon)

Rocky adopted me about 3 years ago and loves to sneak up on the porch and eat my cat's food. She loves to play in my tomato plants and herbs. She always like to turn the water bowl over to let me know she has been there.

Raccoons can be some of the most amusing and entertaining animals. They do love a good fresh chicken dinner when they can find one, so they kinda got a bad rap among farmers. If you have a pet raccoon though, they are just as sweet as a dog or cat and every bit as fun. They need to be vaccinated against some of the same diseases as well, so a visit to a vet is first on the list.

Rocky is a very handsome little "bandit". I was told raccoons have no salivary glands, so must have water to wet their food. Once thought to be washing their foods, they were just wetting it so they could eat it easier. If anyone knows better, I'm hoping they let us know about it.

Thanks for sharing him with us. Pookarina
