Brush Dog Before Walk

When I had my dear Newfoundland dog mix (an extreme shedder), I would brush him every night out front before we left on our walks. This would give any loose fur that didn't get caught in the brush a chance to fall off while he was walking.

This really helped reduce the amount of "furbunnies" rolling through the house like tumbleweeds - especially during his twice a year seasonal sheds when I could collect enough fur to make another dog. I would recommend you keep a bucket or pail nearby for placing all the fur in or it will take over your yard.
