A/C filters are getting costly and mine uses 2. Does anyone have ideas on how to make your own? I thought about using quilt batting, but am not sure if it would be too thick.

I didn't make mine, but went online and found a company hd solutions dot com, for a 50 dollar order they ship free. I have only ordered hog hair by the roll now for 2 plus years. One roll, a 20 inch by 360 inches, lasts me a year plus. I have 4 cats and change filters like every 3 weeks. By a mile money wise, this has been the cheapest option for me. Used to buy filters at 5 or 6 something apiece By the way, first order they gave me a break and shipped free anyway, had it the next day.
I buy the inexpensive blue filters as close to the size I need as I can find, then cut to fit. After cutting I bind them with duct tape. Works great for me!
Lowes and Home Depot sell a filter that you can cut to size . They are plenty thick to . When they get dirty just wash them out by hand with dish soap and water . They last forever .
