A topic not usually discussed but I hope this helps someone. My daughter was very young when she started her menstruation cycle. She was so embarrassed and did not want to go to school. At that point, purses were not carried by her friends. I talked with her teacher and left items at school that she could privately go get.
Then I drove her through town one day and pointed to different women and teen girls we "people watched". I said "Oh, I like her hair", "Oh look at her shoes..." etc.
Then after a while I said "Do you know what all of them have in common?" she frowned, and said "No". I said "They all have the monthly cycle unless they have had surgery, or they have a medical condition". She frowned and said "All do?" and I said "Yup, we all do. You are not any different from any of them and your friends will also one day."
From that day forward, she relaxed and was not so embarrassed. I hope this helps a mom somewhere.
