I just rearranged our living room and would like some ideas about what to place on the 2 end tables, besides lamps. I want minimal clutter and I have 4 grandchildren, ranging in age from 3-7, so it needs to be things that are not fragile or something they shouldn't have.

Family photo albums, books, magazines, soft sculpture, metal trays or vases or other metal/non-breakable items, vases or baskets of silk flowers, vases of decorative twigs/eucalyptus branches, baskets, empty or for storage, wooden statues, trays, bowls, a bowl of fruit or candy if eating is allowed in your living room.
If you want minimal clutter, perhaps nothing else but the lamps is your answer.
I would get two matching (or not!) trays with side rails. Like the rattan ones or wicker. Find some cool things you treasure that are small enough to fit inside, then arrange them as you would like. When you step back and approve then hot glue them to the basket, making sure to have the basket off the table to protect from ooz.
Little hands can look and touch, but can't take.
It's also a great idea if you have cats. One swish of those precious tails can send that Hummel to the trash bag.
When the grandkids come over, it's also cool to have a low cut box under the couch with things they can play with then slide it back when they are done. Win, win!
