Cherry Cheese Crisp

Ingredients

  • 1 package white cake mix
  • 2 packages cream cheese, softened (8 oz. size)
  • 4 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1 carton Cool Whip
  • Advertisement

  • 2 cans cherry pie filling

Directions

Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour into 2 greased 9x13 inch baking pans. Bake at 350 degree F for 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until fluffy. Fold in the Cool Whip. Spread over each cake. Top with pie filling. Chill 4 hours or overnight.

This sounds outstanding! Why is it called "crisp", though? It doesn't sound as if there's anything crisp in it!

Sounds good. Why is it called Crisp? I don't see any ingredients that would make it crisp.
