RC Car Battery Question

For remote control batteries, mine is 6.0 volt. Can i replace it with a drycell 9.0 volt? Would the the RC car work?

Probably not. Usually when you send to much voltage through a line, you destroy pieces of it along the way. So even if it works when you try it, in a day it won't.

This is my knowledge from tinkering. Anyone with schooling on this feel free to correct me.
