Stir dry ingredients together into bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture is mealy. Beat eggs and then add milk blending the ingredients together. Add egg mixture and raisins to flour mixture. Stir until all the ingredients are moistened and dough holds together.
Roll on lightly floured board to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with 2 inch round cookie cutter. Heat griddle until a few drops of water dance on it. (Don't overheat griddle.) Oil griddle lightly and put cookies on it. When the bottom browns the top will become puffy. Then turn the cookie over to brown other side. Best served warm. Makes 4 dozen cookies.

This has been one of my favorite cookies for years! Love to make them in the summer when it is too hot to put the oven on. Great recipe.
Do you have any more cookie recipes for a electric griddle these where delicious
Do, or can you put cover down to do both sides of cookies at once ? Both top and bottom heated also has an adjustable top.
How does one serve 4 dozen cookies whilst still warm?
