Frugal 25th Anniversary Travel Ideas?

Our 25th anniversary is in July. These are poor economic times. My husband wants to go to Dollywood or Kenobles (PA), or Niagara Falls. Does anyone have advice or tips? Thanks.

Knoebels is inexpensive and you can camp there. If you don't want to do a tent, try renting an RV.

Make 3 lists and write down every possible expense you can imagine. Write down travel costs and time, and how much actual time you would have there and when you have to get back to work. Talk about how you imagine each scenario to play out and ask yourself and each other how likely it is it will go that way. Ask yourself if any of this has to be "charged". If you have to charge the trip, take the least expensive, for sure.

Is there anyway this can all be paid for in cash? Romance is in the heart and the mind, and the scenery for most. Then ask yourself how much of a diversion into your other plans for the year this will make, in terms of making other things more or less likely. By the time you get through pondering all these boring but necessary questions, you'll know.
