This was a photo sent to me taken by my son a few years ago, when San Diego had some horrific forest fires. This was not too far from him.

It's so very sad about the fires but the the colors in the photo are eerily beautiful!
I don't understand how forest fires have anything to do with this photo. This is a spectacular sunset, exhibiting God's majesty and glory.

Hi PainterLee :-) It's because the fires created the smoke plumes that the sunset was able to reflect from. Without all of those plumes there wouldn't have been so many vibrant red colored streaks. The same thing often happens on a cloudy day but appear in different shapes than smoke plumes do.
