Preparing Clothing for Washing

Before laundering clothing, close zipper, snap naps, fasteners, and button buttons. That way your zippers and fasteners won't snag other clothing. The best time to do this is before you toss clothing in the dirty clothes hamper.

Closing all fastenings - buttons, zippers, etc - before washing will help the article retain its shape. Do the same every time you hang or fold them as well.

My husbands pant zippers used to break often as they are those nylon ones. I started closing them and no more broken zippers! What a money saver as I was always replacing zippers.
