I now have 4 kittens and one adult cat. I know they are using the litter box, I can see that and I clean it, but when I walk into my home there is a smell in the air. What can I do?

You didnt say if you are using clumping odor control litter. That has worked for me. Also with that many cats you would need a few litter boxes rather than just one. That helps too. Good luck.
I have a Freshmatic nearby spritzing every 36 minutes and during the muggy summer months an air cleaner. I also use only Tidy Cat or Arm and Hammer clumping litter.
Although I only have one cat now I have had more.I use scoop away for multiple cats and I never have any oder problem even though I sometimes forget to change it as often as I should.
