"Drummers Hand" Intense Lotion?

While coming back from vacation in NC last week we stopped at a small country store around Pickens, SC. My wife picked up a jar of hand lotion marked "Drummers Hand" Intense Lotion for Extreme Dry Skin. My wife says it is the best she has ever used but we cannot locate the store to call them (can't remember the name nor exact location). She did remember the lady in the store told her a lady in Asheville NC made it but the jar had no contact information.

It did list the ingredients.

I have searched the internet for "Drummers Hand" and homemade hand lotion and found hundreds of homemade lotions, but none with the name or listed ingredients of (in order listed) Shea Butter, Glycerin, Cocoa Butter, Mineral Oil, Hydrocortisone 1% Gua Gum, Calcium Sulfate and Aloe Vera Gel.

Has anybody heard of this lotion? Does anyone have a recipe using the above ingredients? Thanks.

I found reference to this one but it is now out of biz:

Twelve Corners Drummer's Hand Salve:
Alas, the man who concocted the hand salve is out of that business. The salve has essential oils, aloe, beeswax, and who knows what in it. Many people find that plain shea butter (karite) works well.

This one has slightly different ingredients:

Drummer's Hands:
Drummers use this cream on their hands before drumming for double duty - softens the hands AND conditions natural skin drumheads. But you don't have to be a drummer to enjoy this rich cream! Even the driest skin will respond to pure unrefined shea butter and sweet almond oil. Enhanced with just a touch of ylang ylang essential oil, which promotes centering and grounding.

It appears that most lotions used by drummers use Shea Butter so that must be the core ingredient to look for.

A food co-op or natural food store might be your best bet to look.

Ask the same question, listing the ingredients on your label, at www.snowdriftfarms.com. They sell all those ingredients, and have a way for you to ask about different formularies, as well as a directory of recipes.

If they cannot figure something out you may find something similar in composition but equal in results. Good luck!

I know this is six years later, but I bought the same lotion! It's at a gas station/country store outside of Pickens, on SC 11 just before Table Rock State Park.
