My friends and I are avid bike riders and happen to ride recumbents. As we are at retirement age or over, we have thinning hair. In fact, some of us are bald. My dear friend recently spent $14 on a skull cap to wear under his bike helmet so his head would not get sunburned. I was just about to do the same thing when the frugal side of me took over. What could I utilize under a bike helmet that was light, durable, disposable, absorbent, white, and economical?
One night at three A.M., it dawned on me.
A coffee filter. I've been using them now for about a month and handing them out to my friends. We have a great laugh at my frugality!

Decaf or regular? What a clever idea. You should add this to the post about alternative uses for coffee filters.
This is a GREAT tip! So creative and yet so simple. Thanks for sharing it.
Why not a bandana? You can get them for about a dollar to a dollar-fifty at Walgreen's and other convenience stores, they come in lots of colors to match different outfits, and they are REUSABLE rather than disposable.
