The clothes hanging in the closet have stains on the shoulders and down the sleeves. I need something to get the stains out without ruining the clothes.

Try folex, I get it at wal mart and it has worked for me for clothes, sofas and carpet. Good luck, hope it works for you too. Smiles, Sheri
how about putting them in the washing machine and washing them?
I don't know if you meant that sarcastic but I have already washed it and it didn't remove the stain. I think anyone would have already tried washing it.
May not be stains but fading. If you have a light on in the closet a lot that can happen. If fading, won't wash out.
