That is so pretty, you lucky ducky!
How beautiful and romantic; you are fortunate to have found such a love. Not at all corny. Not one bit. I Googled it too and couldn't find anything either. I say take comfort that he wrote it from his heart with every breath of his being in love with you. It's lovely.
Hope you have fond and loving memories.
Very lucky indeed for someone to think of you that way.
Oh, Sandi, you made me feel all warm and fuzzy. What a beautiful memory, it sounds like a plot to a movie :)
I hope someone knows something more about the poem for you.
That is so pretty! To bad you didn't stay in touch with him. I think he wrote it from his heart!
Have you tried Googling him? Try putting his name into Google, and/or Facebook. Just a suggestion.
Aww! I say your wonderful Portuguese lover wrote this himself. You really could try googling him. Who knows? Maybe he's searching for you, too!
Thank you all for your thoughts. I did google him, but the photo was not him. I even "facebooked" him, but the same was true. Those with the same name weren't him, or didn't have a photo up. So, in my heart, I will keep it near and dear.
If the gent was Portuguese, perhaps he has translated the words of a Portuguese poet into English for you.
What a wonderful thought! I am blessed to have had him in my life and for such romantic friends on Thrifty Fun!
Thanks to you all.
Sandi
I believe it is from a book written in 2003 called Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts. You can find it on line.
