Slice strawberries and place in the pie crust. Cook remaining ingredients in saucepan until clear. Or you can cook in microwave but stir often). Cool slightly. Add a little red food coloring if desired and 3 tablespoons sugar after cooking. Pour over strawberries in pie crust. Refrigerate to set up.
Do any of you remember what Walgreen's strawberry pie tasted like? This is as close to it as I have ever eaten, enjoy!

I would never have thought of putting Kool-Aid in a pie, but this sounds awesome. Thanks so much for the recipe. :-)
This may sound odd but I have to know. Can you use the clear strawberry kool aid. My one daughter is allergic to red dye, but loves strawberries. Thanks
It was red when I was growing up. Since she is allergic I would think she could use the plain gelatin. Try mixing in some kind of red juice.
I miss the food counter at Walgreens
I miss the waitresses
