To prevent a chicken from drying out while it is roasting, place a whole apple inside the chicken. When the chicken is done, just throw the apple away.

Hi Sandy, If you're making a gravy or sauce for the chicken, hang onto that apple. Push it through a coarse sieve and add it to the sauce or gravy. The same goes for onion and/or celery that's roasted with chicken, beef or pork. It helps to thicken and adds such a lot of flavor.
I like adding fruits and veggies to all roasting meats but I've not tried just apple in chicken. Thanks for the great tip.
