Housecleaning Products I Swear By

I've cleaned many houses in my time and these are just a few cleaning products that, in my opinion, there's not a product on the market to compare to them.

  1. Oreck vaccuum cleaners. I clean a large church and no other gets over and underneath pews without wearing me out. The one there is probably 5 years old and so far only 2 broken belts and a handle replaced.

  2. Lysol Bath Tub and Tile cleaner (also comes in a Spring Fresh scent). No other product cleans or smells better.Don't waste money on cheap stuff.

  3. Tylex Soap Scum cleans the worst scum with very little scrubbing. Windex - Don't waste money on off brand that streaks, but when you buy Windex make sure its the original with ammonia.

  4. Mr.Clean - cheap cleaners can't compare to its cleaning and shine and the smell lasts. I don't know about you but when I've worked my fanny off I want to see and smell the results. Just some friendly advice!

I swear by Clorox Wipes for the bathroom sink. I also swear by adding baking soda to the washing machine detergent and Bon Ami for the tubs!

I always use Mr. Clean in my carpet-shampooer. And nothing works faster to make the house smell really good
in a flash like sprinkling carpet deodorizer on the floor just before vacumming.(I even sprinkle it in the floor vents).

I use a LOT of the spray Clorox-Cleanup, in the kitchen & bathrooms. And in the toilets I squirt an antibacterial dishwashing liquid (like Palmolive) and swish with the brush. I agree about Windex, the cheapies are NO match!
(I think some of them are nothing more than colored water!).

I use Lestoil to clean stains out of clothes -even hard to remove grease stains, to clean tar and bugs off the car and my husband even used it to remove glue residue off his Harley when he had to move his reflectors to put on his sissy bar. It came right off with very little effort. This is definitely a product we swear by!

Have you tried the Mr Clean Magic Eraser....wowzers....I was like a cleaning nut around here. It really works! It got off stuff I couldn't get off with other products. I don't know how it works but it does! I also like the Clorox wipes....anything to make my life easier, I'm for!

I like the Clorox Cleanup. It works good on grout. Dawn Direct Foam is something new I just tried this week and really love it. Convenient to use, works great and smells nice too....the pump is so convenient!

"I swear by the winning colors paint and stain remover.
I am amazed how well this works on stains and paint.
I do cleaning for a living and have used many cleaners in my life and have tried many as well.

I have never came across any thing as wonderful as this.
I tried it on a white door that had dried varathane on for 3 years or longer.
I have tried lots of cleaners to remove this varathane off the door and nothing did it.
Today I used the winning colors with a old tooth brush and the varathane came off totally.
I am so happy.:)and still can't believe my eyes the varathane is all gone.
The smell is awesome and now my hands smell like banana candy yum:)
You will not waste your money buying this product

Products used for washing really dirty mini blinds.

MiniMaids (available mail-order www. shophometrends.com)
Greased Lightning or Tilex Soap Scum Remover (retail store)

It's simple, here's how: just slide the dirty mini blind out from the window bracket and slide it right into MiniMaids (suction mounted support brackets) stuck to your shower wall or an outside window, spray the blind with any degreaser or soap scum remover product, (let the cleaning agent work through the build-up of dirt, so you don't have to scrub the individual slats clean), then simply rinse the blind clean with the shower sprayer or garden hose. This process takes only minutes and mini blinds look brand new!

I've read some wonderful cleaning hints.
I personally like organic cleaners.
Orange TKO (Real Delimonene)
Great for pet stains & oders. I use a medium strength solution when I shampoo my carpets.

It's a natural disinfectant and smells Great.
I clean my toilets full strength, and It's not harmfull to your septic tank or the environment.
It Cleans like nobody's business. I use It In my husband's work clothes & son's play clothes as well.
For cleaning windows, I use Hydrogen Peroxide full strength. I use Old cut up cotton sheets to wipe down all the glass / windows.
Also for the tub & shower I use Borax and a mr.Clean magic eraser.

One of the best cleaners I have ever used is Lestoil. It is so good on kitchen grease or grease stains on laundry. I have used this for years but it is getting hard to find where I live in southeast Missouri. I hope they are not going to quit making it. It also does a great job on getting grass stains out of my sons jeans.

I have tried almost every bathroom cleaning product on the shelves to get mildew/mold off the grout in my shower and nothing works. I have also tried a lot of the ideas posted on this website. Being I live in an apartment I can't redo it, and I would be billed to have management do it. I also can't afford to hire it done. Anybody have any ideas?

I struggled with mold on grout and now I simply refuse to have a shower area with grout. I would replace it with an all in one ceramic shower or something of that sort. Find a reasonable handyman to install it. Some things in life just aren't worth the struggle.

I have found that paying a little more for better products is more cost saving then buying off brands. I will never use anything but regular Windex and Bounty towels. For some reason the cheap paper towels streak and leave a mess. The same with knockoffs of Windex, they just don't do the trick and who wants to clean and not see results? I also swear by Simple Green, cleans dirt and grime like a breeze, my floors look great after scrubbing them with it and it smells nice and fresh also. I also love Clorox with bleach for cleaning the bathroom and don't use anything but that for wiping down the toilet and the sink. Good products can be cost effective when you don't have to double clean.

I don't use Lysol. If I wanted to, it's good to know it's available in Spring Fresh scent. I detest the scent of original Lysol. It stinks. If it didn't, I still wouldn't like the scent, due to association. Every time I smell it, I'm reminded of a time when using it as a douche was quite the rage.
