I am in charge of pulling together a brunch for the elderly ladies at our church to be held May 2nd. We would like a spring theme, but we need ideas on inexpensive favors to set at each seat and decorating ideas for tables, centerpieces, etc.
I would love to come up with a cute saying like I have seen on this site for mother's day, "Mother's bloom where they are planted" or birthday "Hope we can all live to be as old as Aunt Bee". But maybe centered on a Bible verse? We hope to have this become an annual event, but this is the first time we have attempted it.

I always love incorporating seed packets into any gathering/party/celebration that coincides with spring. I've also used packs/flats of impatiens/pansies which can be easily transplanted & separated into almost anything that can hold dirt.
Search for"Rachel Ray decor", she has lot of ideas there, good luck.
There's probably a good verse in Proverbs 31. Also in Timothy, the Lois and Eunice verse. Or the story where Abigail meets David and apologizes for her dolt of a husband.
