- 1/2 pkg. turkey bacon
- 5-8 small round red boiling potatoes, peeled and diced (new potatoes)
- 1 carrot, peeled and diced
- 1-2 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 bunch small green onions, sliced
- 4 chicken bouillon cubes (dissolved in water)
- 5 cups boiling water
- 6-7 peppercorns
- chopped chives
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 1/4 cup margarine
Directions:
Prepare all the vegetables and put into crock pot. Cut the turkey bacon into small pieces and add to crock pot. Dissolve bouillon cubes in boiling water and add to crock pot. Add margarine and salt to the crock pot. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours. During the last hour, add the evaporated milk and chives. Serves 8

do you put bacon in raw

This particular recipe does call for it to go in raw but you could always add it later if you wish to have it be crispy. I've also seen recipes that do both.
