To train my very small dogs for outdoor potty training, I used chicken wire (about 2 feet tall) and made a circle about the size of a small kiddie pool. It is portable. She also has a pen for play dates which is oblong, about 2x4 feet. This is so that I can keep an eye on the babies at all times. I never let her run freely on my 2 acres of land.
