What can you give you're dog to occupy them while your away from home? Go to the meat department, get a beef soup bone. Take it home and boil it. After it cools, take out the marrow. This it good for Rover too, but the hollow bone it what you want.
Fill it with small treats and peanut butter in the middle. Also smear peanut butter on both ends to make it more interesting. This will keep your dog busy for hours. Even after the peanut butter is gone the bone will still have the sent and flavor of the yummy peanut butter.
The bone will last for a very long time so you can reuse it each time you leave. My dog would see me filling the bone and run to his cage, he knew what was coming! I think he liked it when I left to go to work!

You don't want to give your dog cooked bones of any kind. They can splinter, and cause perforations or obstructions. Raw bones are the only safe bones for dogs.
