What Are the Easiest Flowers to Grow in the Garden?

I'm a first time gardener, I can't even grow an indoor plant. My friend got lots of packets of seeds, what's the easiest flowers to grow?
I was also wondering could we mix the seeds together to have all different types of flowers (if it works at all).

These are some of the easiest to grow from seed.....

Calendula
Columbine
Cosmos
Four O'Clocks
Marigolds
Morning glories
Moss rose
Nasturtiums
Shasta daisies
Sunflowers
Sweet alyssum
Sweet peas
Zinnias

Hybridizing is possible but it is a lengthy process, which involves bagging the flowers to prevent "chance" pollinization. You then have to pollenate them yourself. Here is a link that should help:
