Children always get an overdose of candy on Easter so being the crafter of the family, this grandma tries to come up with ideas to fill their baskets with other than a lot of sweets. Here is one of the items that will be delivered by the Easter Bunny!
Approximate Time: 30 minutes plus drying
Decide on what colors you want and what foam shapes you will use. Trace child's hand and foot prints. I do this every 1/2 year or so with my grandchildren so I have them on hand (no pun intended!). Their prints make wonderful gifts!
Take a paper plate and trace onto foam along with a circle from a glass. Cut both out. Glue onto placemat sheet of foam.
Cut a piece of elastic the width of child's hand print. Stitch a pre-cut foam shape in center and stitch each end onto hand. Just sew easy with foam. It sews well if you do not pull hard. Do the same with footprint. Glue one on each side of plate.
Decorate placemat with other pre-cut shapes such as spelling out their name. Slide plastic silverware under elastic on hand and napkin under elastic on foot. Now they have their own personalized placemat.
