I found this online: I do not know. I never sell or buy online. You can search for your question to find more info, good luck.
Don't use craig's list. Many people encounter fraud and things like that so people use ebay. It may be a little safer and people will trust that you do have something to sell.
I tried to advertise my Pet Sitting business on Craig's List. I had it on there for 3 weeks. Finally took it off because ALL I was getting back was people looking for sex, and people trying to get me to make money "their way". I finally decided to simply stick with advertising in the local paper. I want to advertise on the local TV channel too as soon as I figure out an ad.
I have been using Craig's list for a couple years but I'm a private party and not a business and I've had good luck other then the no-shows'. You want to make sure your posting in the right category advertising a business? Be sure to list it in the services category, if you post it in the wrong category you will be flagged then removed then you start all over again. Or were you just asking how to get started?
Go to Craig's list, find your state then your city, click on any category that sounds good, that will open up to that page with all the individual listings, look up in the upper right-hand corner where it says post click on it, you have 2 options you either post as a guess or join, I suggest joining it is a lot easier to keep track of what's going on, after you make your first post you will receive a confirmation letter, that's the fastest way to get back to your posting. In time you will figure it out.
The 1 strange thing in all these groups is the want ads (items wanted) are as if you're asking for something or a service it's a bit confusing. Have you tried kijiji.com

How do I sell on Craig's list? Where do I go to apply or register to be able to sell? I'm very ignorant about computer experience so maybe you can give me clear directions. Thank you.

Go to Craig'sList.com and follow the directions. Depending on what you want to sell, you might want to pick an area in you local. I have only ever advertised one thing there and I picked the city I live in, but didn't have near as good luck there as on the local online classifieds. One TV station has a site and the local newspaper does too. As it was it took me more than two months to get the item sold.
Oh yes! be aware that depending on what it is and the price you are asking, people might want to come and look at the item. For this reason you are going want to be extremely careful. That is why I chose to put it in my city, on Craig's List.
Selling on Craigslist is very simple and doesn't require registering.
Go to Craigslist.com and situate the listing for your area. There are cities on the side to choose from. There is also an area where you can change which state is listed. Then you can choose a city close to your area. That may or may not bring up other cities surrounding the town you chose.
Once you have the area selected that best fits your location I always find it easiest to pick the category I want to sell in. Then I do a search in that category for items similar to what I want to sell to get an idea of how much my item may be selling for.
When you are ready to list your item there is a link labelled "post". I believe it is in the upper right hand corner. This brings up a page with all the categories listed once again and you have to select the category you want to make the post in. There may be other selections after this page depending on what you want to sell but ultimately you will get the item selected, ad a title, a description and a price. You can also add a picture (which personally I believe helps sell items).
Once you are done you click on a button down below your listing, it is either "next" or "complete" or "post"... something like that. You will be sent an email which you have to open your posting from to make it active.
Now... some hints to selling. Put a good descriptive title to your post. Many people search for items in the titles only. The clearer more precise title you have the better the chance people will see your post that may be interested. For example, if you want to sell a color TV don't just make your title "Color TV". Say something like "Color TV - Magnavox 72" model PK6504" (I just made all that up but it should give you the idea).
In the description describe your item. Not just how pretty it is but everything that may be wrong with it. Don't try to mislead or pull the wool over anyone's eyes. Make sure you add a price in the description. If you leave a phone number leave the area code. Don't put your address or your email address in the description other than the city in which your item resides. Put anything else in the description that may seem relevant or even irrelevant if it may convince someone that you have what they want.
Unlike a newspaper ad you are not being charged by the word so talk it up.
Pictures help an item sell, plain and simple.
Also, if you are willing to trade for anything mention what you are looking for and again... be specific. Decide ahead of time if you are willing to settle for anything less. Including price. Stick to your guns. If you aren't hard up for money don't lower your goals. Same is true with buying. I waited 14 months to find the truck I wanted on Craigslist and finally got it at the price I wanted to pay. I waited 7 months to sell a motorboat motor for my dad at the price he wanted for it. Eventually you find or sell what you want on Craigslist if you're patient.
Do be careful with selling/buying from anyone that you don't know. When I have done this, I have always arranged to meet the buyer/seller in a large parking lot where there are multiple people around.
