A frugal lifestyle involves eating more meals at home since dining out is usually an expensive adventure. Whenever you do decide to splurge on a restaurant meal, you can do so more frugally by choosing to drink water, dining at times when lunchtime specials are available, and taking advantage of specials the restaurant is offering.
Desserts are usually quite expensive at restaurants. Obviously, you can keep the cost of the meal lower by not ordering a dessert. However, there is still a way to frugally satisfy your sweet tooth. Usually, restaurants and fast food places are combined in one centralized area. You can leave the restaurant without dessert and stop at a nearby fast food location and enjoy a cone of ice cream, a sundae, a delicious large cookie, or various other sweet treats for a fraction of what a restaurant dessert would cost.
