I made this for my daughter when she was a few months old, and started to hold things and begin listening to sounds.
It's like a rattle cube, made of used cross-stitch cloths, cotton wool, and a bell. I sewed them all together and did a few cross-stitch designs on it.

It's a beautiful design and a wonderful keepsake.
They are wonderful and lots of work. Could you perhaps make a set of the most familiar alphabet
letters in 3" square sizes as a teaching toy? Also, how difficult would it be to cover them in vinyl to not only protect them for several generational uses, but also to be able to wash them off when you need to?
